I am managing blade infra, how to determine vsphere licensing metrics , should I go for std edition or enterprise edition , please throw some clarity around this . If I can manage licensing with std edition for lesser cost , I am happy .

It depends on which features are necessary for you. Currently, VMware does not offer Enterprise edition already. Just Standard and Enterprise Plus.
