How to deploy Cisco Nexus 1000v on vSphere 5?

In this article I will show how to deploy Cisco Nexus 1000v on vSphere 5.5.

To deploy Cisco Nexus 1000v, please follow steps:

    2. From the vSphere Client, choose File > Deploy OVF Template or if you use Web Client, right click on Cluster and select Deploy OVF TemplateHow to deploy Cisco Nexus 1000v on vSphere 5

    6. In the Name: field, add the VSM name, choose the folder location within the inventory where it will reside, and click Next. The name for the VSM must be unique within the inventory folder and less than 80 characters.How to deploy Cisco Nexus 1000v on vSphere 5 - 5

    8. Click Next.

    10. Click Next.

    12. Click Next.

Cisco Nexus 1000v Secondary

To deploy Cisco Nexus 1000v Secondary, please follow steps:

  1. Repeat steps 2-5 mentioned earlier in this article.

  3. From the Configuration drop-down list, choose Nexus 1000V Secondary. This choice configures the secondary VSM using the GUI setup dialog.How to deploy Cisco Nexus 1000v on vSphere 5 - 12
  4. Repeat steps 8-12 mentioned earlier in this article.

Cisco Nexus 1000v is supported on vSphere 6.0 as well. The installation procedure is the same.
